After being away from Tumblr for about 4 days, here is what I have figured out and decided:
- Tumblr uses up a lot of my time. Too much.
- My blog is a pretty good representation of me, and reblogging more penguins or Starbucks or Pokemon pictures isn’t going to change that significantly.
- I certainly don’t want to expend the energy to go back and look at all of the posts from the last 4 days. That would take more than a day…not okay.
The main enjoyment I get out of Tumblr now is the interaction with others. By asking them questions, answering questions, just getting to know people. And I think I can still do that without getting tangled up in hours upon hours of Tumblr-ing.
I will keep my Tumblr up, but from this point on, I’m not going to be scrolling through the Dashboard, liking pictures of attractive men, reblogging great recipes, or doing my year-to-blog challenge.
I will simply contact people (or hopefully be contacted by people) with whom I would like to keep in touch…hopefully getting a Skype or Facebook or phone number.
And I have my ask box set up to send me an email when someone asks a question, so don’t worry, I will know if you try to reach me =)
It’s weird to think that I’ve been on for almost two years (April 3, 2010…thank you Tumblr Stats!), and I’ve certainly enjoyed being 2 weeks ahead of the curve on what’s cool on the Internet, but it’s time for us to part *violin plays dramatically* I could really use the time for my music, going to the gym, or being *gasp* social. But seriously, it’s been a blast, and I will likely be talking to many of you off of Tumblr from this point on!
Love you guys so much! <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

PS = If we’re already friends on Facebook or Skype or I have your number, don’t be offended when I don’t try to contact you on Tumblr =P
